Vsevolod Kniazev, a judge of the Administrative Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court and the Secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court, was elected the new President of the Supreme Court. He received 98 votes out of 169.

Thus, the plan of the notorious Bohdan Lvov to appoint his protege failed - Volodymyr Pohrebnyak received only 49 votes.

Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Kniazev served as Head of the Mykolayiv District Administrative Court.

Valentyna Danishevska, the current President of the Supreme Court, did not take part in the competition. Her tenure expires on November 30.
