The Selection Commission for the selection of the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office failed to vote for the appointment of the NABU detective Oleksandr Klymenko as the head of the SAPO.
Five of the six members of the Selection Commission, delegated by the Parliament, refused to approve their scores. Among them are the head of the Selection Commission Kateryna Koval (“Za maybutnie” faction), Olena Busol (“Za maybutnie”), Andriy Gudzhal (OPZZh), Bohdan Romaniuk (“Dovira”) and Yevhen Sobol (“Sluha Narodu”).
"Obviously, it was done to try to disrupt the appointment of the Head, although the Commission itself has already determined Oleksandr Klymenko as the winner. We are waiting for the new decisions of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv - whether it is a ban on the Commission to announce scores or a ban on breathing and walking at all."
- said Mykhailo Zhernakov, Chair of the Board of the DEJURE Foundation.
The Selection Commission postponed the meeting to an indefinite date.
The NABU detective Oleksandr Klymenko scored 246 points, 17 points ahead of the prosecutor Andriy Syniuk. The declaration and the style of living of Andriy Synyuk are in question.
The day before, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv declared illegal the procedure for holding a competition for the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The position of the DACK is as follows: the court concluded that the Selection Commission does not have the authority to adopt the Procedure of the Commission and hold a competition for administrative positions in the SAPO.
Our colleagues from the AntAC reported that the DACK undermined the competition for the head of the SAPO with a non-existent provision of the law.
