The G7 Ambassadors call the members of the High Council of Justice for transparency when deciding on the appointment of 16 (!) members of the High Council of Justice. They announced this on their Twitter page. The G7 Ambassadors reaffirmed their support while stressing the importance of a transparent and open way of conducting the remaining selection rounds.

Last week, the HCJ published the methodology for selecting members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges. Currently, it provides for closed interviews (no online broadcast) and secret voting of members of the HCJ. Earlier, the Head of the High Council of Justice, Hryhoriy Usyk, stated at a press conference (time code 37:07) that the HCJ can appoint the operational HQCJ: "As for the possible options, there are many of them. Both the appointment of eight candidates from among judges and the appointment of a smaller number. In any case, I did not say a single word about the non-operational composition of the HQCJ".
