The Verkhovna Rada decided on the members of the High Council of Justice under its quota.
Newly elected members of HCJ are Roman Maselko, a “Maidan attorney”, DEJURE Foundation and Automaidan board member, and Mykola Moroz, PhD of Laws of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
The public did not doubt the integrity of both candidates.
We thank each MP for electing worthy candidates and consistently implementing judicial reform, which is a condition for Ukraine's candidate status in the EU!
The competition for the High Council of Justice continues. The vote for two members of the HCJ under the quota of the Congress of Legal Scholars will take place on August 19.
Also, there is currently a competition for 16 positions at the High Qualification Commission of Judges - the body responsible for the selection and qualification evaluation of judges. It depends on this body who will become new judges, as well as which current judges will remain in office or be dismissed for violating the law.
The deadline for sending documents is August 22. So we call upon all decent lawyers with relevant experience to take part in this competition! Let's change the judicial system for the better together!
